Men’s 1s vs The Saxons drama and ballet school of excellence 1s

On a fine Saturday afternoon after the apocalyptic rain. Herne bay arrived ready knowing that it was going to be a tough physical game.
After the early discussions of who is actually playing today! An enthusiastic and energetic warm-up meant we were ready for the game ahead.
There was an early concern when Jamie Ulyett went missing during the warm-up but was helped by what can be only described as a motorway workman’s jacket top……
Anyway, so the game began! Bay started strong with Sammy scoring a tap in at the back post, anyone could have scored it. Saxons then had some good possession and chances but the bay defence held up strong and defended well. Sammy then went on to miss multiple 1 on 1s…….
Then the moment of the game, Luke Hasler scored a screamer…. It was described as a dive worthy of a salmon returning to its home upstream…… magical!! So 2-0 bay!
Big Boy Craig also managed to do the biggest miss of the season without rupturing his knee…… it was a wild swing! So wild! So big… so much air!
George also got carded for constant bad tackles…. All game outrageous!!!

Half time came with bay knowing the second half would be a fight and Saxons would come out Strong.
Right I’m bored of this match report now….. so second half highlights

Craig spent the entire game getting abused by their best player, calling him big boy! So from this day forward, he will be known as Craig ‘big boy’ Dale
Sammy missing a flick… it was bad, real bad, the kinda bad when you s*** yourself and have no change of clothes.
DJ dived a lot! Looked broken, concerned for his health…….
Jamie made lots of saves…. Played well, clean sheet! Well played
Pete managed to tackle and outplay himself….. it was embarrassing, that embarrassing I wouldn’t play hockey again…
Senna couldn’t take the heat of the game so sat out most of the second half and then tried to solidify his performance by talking lots of big words in the clubhouse.
Anyway probably missed some stuff, but was a good laugh and the 3 points helped!
