Mens 4s v Folkestone 4s

Bays last game before Christmas saw them travel to Folkestone, known for its own micro-climate and expecting the worst weather things were relatively calm.
After waiting for the previous game to finish despite the umpires trying to keep it going for as long as possible. Bay had their turn getting to start downhill on the sloped Folkestone pitch, the start was strong and Bay managed to put the oppo under pressure and soaked up the pressure too.
Through luck or misfortune, Bay conceded after the ball was tipped onto the crossbar back past Jake then off an attackers shin pad and then hit in by the said player. The lead wasn’t long-lasting with Bay defending another attack, Jake pelted the ball to Brunders who passed to Jamie one on one with the keeper sent it passed the keeper like a rocket 1-1 and game on.
Toward the end of the first half Bay were defending another attack, the oppo shot on the edge of the D, Jake being unsighted to the shot couldn’t get to the ball as Jay moved his feet out of the way allowing the ball to travel past Jake into the goal.
Half time 2 - 1

The second half was underway and this is where we get to the title of the report. Although the play through the half was strong and no goals were conceded or scored there seemed to be a different contest going on. Who can take one to the Crown Jewels the best?
This started with Brunders taking a deflected pass getting close but not quite on target. The second was Alfie while took a glancing blow while defending an attack. But the winner was Jamie while on the attack the ball ran loose to the oppo keeper who kicked it like it was a Ronaldo free kick, instead of moving out the way or putting the stick in the way it is reported he got out his superman pose hands on hips and took it clean to the jewels. Needles to say he needed a moment, as it wasn’t quite 'little man of steel' and his voice changed to a BeeGee-esk falsetto.
So although it’s not the finish of this half of the season we wanted the 4s have got stronger, playing better and the last 5 games have been against all the top half of the table and we made it hard for them. The youngsters that have played for us thank you for sticking with us despite the losses and we look forward to finishing the season with you in the team hopefully with some wins under our belts.
MotM was easy this week going to Jake for the saves at one point making 5/6 in a row.
