Ladies 1 v Brom Bec

After an early 08:30 meet, we arrived in Beckenham to a fog-covered pitch and wondered if it would be clear enough to be able to play in the bet 40 mins before push back. We struggled to even see the port-a-loo on the side of the pitch.

It cleared just enough. Now the team struggles with an early start, long drive, and may not undertake the most productive of warm-ups, but we knocked a few balls about started the match on time.

We did not carry the momentum of the previous week's winning match into this game, the oppo picked our passing game apart and were just a bit more switched on. However, we put on a good battle and the majority of the play for the match was between the two 23yrd lines. Half time we were 2 - 0 down, would have been more if the keeper had not scooped a ball off the line at full stretch with her stick and covered the rebound. ( impressive for an old bird !!)

The second half was more of the same really Jemma Edmunds scored a goal, Phil Mackinnon had a fabulous run down the line full length of the pitch ad was unlucky not to get a goal for her efforts.
Final score 3-1

MoM: joint Ali Watson , Phil MacKinnon
DoD: Denners (need a stick to play this game!)
