Herne Bay Ladies 2 vs Burnt Ash

So we travelled the hour to arrive in good time, only find the previous game had only just started the second half! Bye bye warmup!
Quite frankly the first five minutes were shocking and we were soon to concede a goal. This is what happens when you only get two minutes on the pitch before the start. 10 minutes later there was another! Following this, we decided that we needed to sort ourselves out and following a quick halftime chat we came out strong and weren’t messing about.

It didn’t take long before we had some penalty corners and a simply magnificent sweep from Sally Pywell saw the ball almost make a hole in the back of the goal. We had found our pace and quickly after Emily put a second one past the keeper. Goal given, but then the umpires needed to confer, we all knew how this was going to end - Lara please get your feet out of the way next time or don’t get noticed!
We weren’t phased, the tempo was high and we were all pushing hard. It wasn’t long before Emily received a beautiful ball in from Lara and made it count this time! Kirsty Butler then had her turn and from 0-2 at halftime, we were now 3-2 up. The pressure was on and unfortunately, Burnt Ash got a last-minute break and equalised. This should not have happened, but sadly the umpires really weren’t keen on giving us anything at all, even when they should have! They followed this up with a penalty corner and then the final whistle goes!
This was not the end we wanted and the Bay defence was not going to let them win and we didn’t!

Final score 3-3.
Amazing results to come from behind, bring it on when they play us at home.
