Marden Russets ladies 3rd 4 XI Herne Bay ladies 3rd XI 2

Herne bay ladies started the morning with a little tour around Marden with Sarah Symons nav getting a little confused.
The first half saw Marden taking the lead but a great run down the left from Emily Butcher saw her confidently putting the ball past the Marden keeper.
With a little shuffle around Hannah Evans came into defence to help Caitlin (who had an amazing game), Bex who slotted into the right-back position confidently and Sarah Symons.
Unfortunately, Marden were able to get another goal before the second half saw them go into halftime with the lead.

The second half saw the Bay on their back foot with Marden getting another goal to increase their lead.
The Bay counteracted with an assist from Karen Atkinson to Emily Butcher decreasing the Marden lead.
The pressure was on and dedicated Hannah managed to stop the ball 3 times with her body and then stepping on the ball gave Marden a P-flick. But Amanda Richardson-Jess confidently saved shot to the top left corner.
Dispute their battling Marden were able to get another goal increasing their lead and seeing the final score 4-2.

The team played well with several players trying new positions on the pitch today and with Sarah Butcher (Emily's mum) making her debut after 3 sessions of back to hockey she made some great tackles and passes.....it must run in the family. Kiara, Bea, Martha and Tegan all played well and slotted into different positions on the pitch confidently.
