Herne bay ladies over 35's 1 Maidstone Ladies over 35's 3

Herne bay came in to their game today expecting their yearly thrashing by Maidstone, but it was not to be today!

After a minutes silence the game got under way with stand in umpire Sammy as the Maidstone umpire was running late.

The bay took a few minutes to find their feet with Maidstone trying to get an early goal but the bay defence were not going to let this happen.

The bay found their flow and putting pressure on the Maidstone defence.

Maidstone were able to sneak a goal in and this saw them head in to half time with the lead.

The second half the bay came out strongly with only one goal down this year!

A short corner struck by Abigail Burton found Sharron Godden which saw the score draw level.

This spurred the bay on but unfortunately any further shots were cleared by the Maidstone defence.

Maidstone were able to sneak 2 goals in towards the end of the game, but they were not going to get the p flick awared past Ali Watson who made an amazing save.

Overall an amazing performance from the team that do not play together regularly, making Maidstone fight for their win today.
